Create a KDP book cover for free

Design a full-wrap paperback or case-laminate hardcover in your browser: back cover, spine and front cover in one PDF. Spine width follows the final page count and paper type. No account, payment or watermark is required.

    How to make your cover

    1. Set the print format. Choose paperback or hardcover, trim size, page count, paper and reading direction. The tool calculates the spine and full cover dimensions.
    2. Add your artwork. Upload, drop or paste images onto the front, back or spine. Describe an idea to prepare a prompt for ChatGPT or Gemini, then bring the generated image back here.
    3. Arrange text and sample pages. Add a title, subtitle, author or custom text, choose fonts, drag and align lettering, and arrange back-cover page samples with a preset layout.
    4. Download your PDF. Review the print notes, save a project backup and export the full wrap at 300 DPI. Check the file in KDP’s Print Previewer before publishing.

Calculations, images and exports are processed on your device. Google Fonts load only when requested. The PDF contains a flattened RGB cover; the downloaded project keeps your text and layout editable. KDPify is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Amazon.

    Frequently asked questions

    Is the PDF really free?

Yes. You can design and download covers without an account, payment or watermark.

Where do the title and author go?

Enter them in Book settings. By default, they appear as editable front-cover text. Use Text to change the font, size and color, or drag the words into place. Beside each field in Book, choose Text for editable lettering or Image to include the exact words in its cover-art prompt. Generate the artwork in ChatGPT or Gemini, then upload or paste it here. The matching editor lettering is hidden to avoid duplicates, and its formatting is preserved. Empty or disabled fields are omitted from the prompt.

    How do I add artwork?

Click Upload image or Paste directly on the front or back cover. You can also drag an image onto a cover, or copy an image and press Ctrl/Cmd V. Select Spine to change its color or image.
